World’s largest aquarium to open in Atlanta
The world’s largest aquarium, largest by virtually all major standards, is set to open in Atlanta on 23 November 2005. Called simply the Georgia Aquarium, with 8 million gallons of fresh and marine water and 100,000 displayed fish, it is significantly larger than any other currently in the world.
Most excitingly, visitors get to welcome Ralph and Norton — the only whale sharks on display outside of Asia 
The aquarium was funded by one of the founders of Home Depot, and he claims this is his gift back to Georgia for the success of the Home Depot franchise.
