American actor, Tom Cruise has bought an ultrasound machine for his pregnant fiancee Katie Holmes so that they can monitor their unborn child at home.

“I bought a sonogram machine,” Cruise says on ABC’s Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2005, to air on November 29, 2005. The 43-year-old actor said the couple would do their own scans with the ultrasound machine which show fetus development. He also said he will donate the machine to a hospital after the baby is born.
Ultrasound machines range in cost from $25,000 to $200,000. Cruise is currently in Shanghai, China to film scenes for Mission Impossible 3.

It is really amazing looking at how the rich and famous buy things. Expensive things such as an ultrasound machine that costs up to $200,000 are like peanuts to them. Probably for them, it is not more difficult than buying a packet of cigarette from a local store
