Ang Lee Shooting Lust Caution In Ipoh
Renowned Taiwanese director Ang Lee began filming his latest movie “Lust, Caution” at several locations in Ipoh recently. Lee, who recently won an Oscar for best director for Brokeback Mountain, started shooting at Jalan Bandar Timah at around 1pm today.

The cast and crew were in a customary prayer ceremony where they sought blessings for a smooth filming.
The spy thriller, based on a 26-page short story by famed Chinese writer Zhang Ailing, or Eileen Chang, Lust, Caution features several international actors and actresses, including Cannes Film Festival award winner Tony Leung, Chinese-American pop star Wang Lee-Hom and mainland newcomer Tang Wei.
Besides Jalan Bandar Timah, filming will also be done at Jalan Panglima, Jalan Tun Sambanthan, Jalan Chua Cheng Bok, Jalan Che Wan, Jalan Sultan Yusuf, Jalan Dato’ Maharajalela and Jalan Pasar. All these place are in Ipoh, Perak.
You may not know that many other popular movies are shot here. These include Paloh (2002), Embun (2002), Tamil film Kathal Kisu Kisu (Love Gossip), Sepet (2005), Gubra (2005) and historical television series Tun Tan Cheng Lock (2004).
This was mostly because Ipoh has retained many of its pre-war buildings with their unique architecture.
