Capsule hotels

When considering a hotel room when you are traveling or on Holiday, sometimes all you need is a little space. Nothing fancy, just enough room to kick your shoes off, get some sleep and then be on the road again. The hair dryer, coffee pot, couch or a phone in the bathroom is completely unnecessary. Heck, you don’t even need any floor space. Enter, the Capsule Hotel.

Made popular in Japan, capsule hotels provide you with a ‘room’ that is approximately three feet wide, 4 feet high, and a little over 6 feet deep. Just enough space to lay down in. Your luggage is stored in a separate locker.

Capsule hotels have been around since 1979 and range in price from US dollars $16 to $34. Unfortunately, there is nothing like that in the USA now.

Not only is there nothing like that in the USA now, nor is there likely to be anytime in the foreseeable future. Why? Can you say COFFIN?
This would resemble more of a coffin to many Americans than a place to rest. If you have any hint of claustrophobia, then - forget it!
