Ad with the edge!

September 13th, 2008 by Pamela

The first time I saw this TV commercial, I just have to chuckle. It is one of the wittiest TV commercial I’ve ever seen. It is definitely eye-catching; whether it is making sales for Travelocity, that’s a different story altogether.
I bet that some may wonder, why the stereotypes of male flight attendants? Is it sarcastically funny? Or just a gimmick for the sake of making the ad work? Then again, its just an ad. Mere creative edge of advertising. At the end of the day, it is really about how each individual who watched this think. Nevertheless, a great ad that is altogether witty, funny and entertaining.

Is it just me or does this seem somewhat weird and strange - Italian Priest Organizes Beauty Contest for Nuns… A bit like an oxymoron, if you must.

Don’t drink before noon

September 4th, 2008 by Maria

We have heard a lot of Beijing Olympic controversies and scandals.

Well, this one, for once, doesn’t involve anything on the side of the organizers.

Beer

Turns out the Belgian Sports Minister Michel Daerden had one too many drinks and got very… vocal in his support for the players from his country.

It sounds a bit like Homer Simpson showed up for the Beijing Olympics and really had a go at it. Except this version of Homer had an official title and viking-ish mustache.

Save it for the late night partying and karaoke nights, mate!

On the other hand, scratch that idea. The Flemish Minister commented that “Michel Daerden really has a drinking problem, everyone knows it,”.

Yea, well we had no clue and much as Belgium has the best beer, fab art and Tintin, Smurfs and Asterix, most of us will be exchanging stories about the time this bigwig from Belgium got drunk at the Olympics.

For shame!

Shake it like you mean it!

September 3rd, 2008 by Pamela

Used to be a bartender once upon a time, I personally enjoyed mixing drinks. Drinks as in cocktails, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic (mocktails). My specialties - Long Island Tea, Margarita and Pinna Colada. Yes, all very common. So I decided to search the internet for new and unique cocktail recipes. And boy, look what I found!
